Emily, along with her siblings, are first cousins twice removed of Sir Paul McCartney. The Inbetweeners star has spoken warmly about Sir Paul, who she said was a familiar face during her childhood.
"Paul is my grandmother's first cousin. At school I went around saying he was my uncle, as it sounds a bit cooler," she divulged on a podcast with comedian Rob Brydon, as reported by Bedfordshire Live.
She elaborated: "But I grew up with him in our lives. He's a lovely man, a family man. He was very close to our grandmother, Betty, and our grandad, Mike. They were very helpful to him growing up."
Emily revealed that the Beatles' 1968 classic, Lady Madonna, was actually inspired by her grandma. She admitted that it only dawned on her how incredible it was to be related to a Beatle later in life, remarking: "When I was little I was so used to going round there for Sunday lunch."
Rumours have swirled around Emily and Alistair Garner since September 2023, but whispers suggest they've been friends for nearly thirty years. Reports indicate that Emily's mother, Kate, and Alistair's step-mother are sisters - which would make the expecting parents stepcousins.
Gossip has it that Emily's aunt Jane Garner encountered her partner's late father Stephen Garner in the 90s and they exchanged vows in 1994.
An insider at the time confided to the Mail Online: "Emily and Alistair have grown close over the past 12 months."
